Poor decision-making greatly increases the likelihood of accidents, as it reduces the ability to make rational choices and respond appropriately to potential hazards. Perhaps the most alarming risk of drowsy driving is the potential for drivers to fall asleep behind the wheel.

Driving while fatigued is a serious threat to road safety. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowsy driving accidents were responsible for 633 deaths in 2020. Drivers should get enough sleep, take breaks during long trips and avoid driving during periods of excessive tiredness. By doing so, they can significantly reduce the risks of serious car accidents caused by drowsy driving and create safer roads for everyone.
