Biography
Attorney Steven Rolsch brings nearly 35 years of legal experience to the table when meeting clients. Growing up in nearby Zumbro Falls, he decided he wanted to become a lawyer after staying up to watch Perry Mason with his parents. He looks back now and likes what he sees. "I love how he helped people, his thoughtfulness and empathy. He was also a solo guy, but he had Della Street.
While the television show often revolved around murder cases and courtroom drama, Steve provides a wide range of services to his clients quickly and cost-effectively. He could have specialized in one area of law, but instead, he grew his law practice organically, helping clients with divorce, DUI, personal injury, and wrongful death, as well as business and real estate matters.
"My job is to figure out what we can do to reduce the pain," he explains. "That's the key factor." It may involve resolving a difficult custody dispute, reducing a license revocation, or helping injury victims and their families.
His long career has led to many fond professional memories, none better than helping a father get custody of his daughters back when mothers usually got full custody during a divorce. The mother had some mental health issues and could not provide a safe and nurturing environment, yet it still took a full trial to get the girls safe with their dad. Not only has he stayed in contact with the father and daughters, but he has since represented the children who are now adults.
While Perry Mason had Della Street, Steve also has a team who helps get the work done. "I've got three really great staffers, Shana Schaefer, Erika LaPlante and Christopher Eisner. They really help me a lot with the clients and the clients like them. They are enthusiastic, and they care. When the client sees that we care, it makes it easier for them. They appreciate the fact that we treat them with empathy and respect."
A longtime resident of Rochester, Steve has enjoyed watching and being a part of the city as it grows and changes. He no longer coaches youth sports or plays on any city league teams, but he remains engaged with the community and speaks with pride about the growing city he and his wife call home.
Once clients from Rochester and the surrounding area work with Rolsch Law Offices, they come back whenever the need arises, knowing that Steve's experience and versatility give them the best chance to solve their legal problems.
